April 9, 2021 – Los Angeles, CA – The United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) is pleased to announce Villarreal Las Vegas Academy as its newest expansion club ahead of the Spring Season.

Based in Las Vegas, NV, Villarreal Las Vegas Academy will begin UPSL play in the Southwest Conference Arizona/Nevada Division. The club will host its home games at The Las Vegas Sports Park (1400 N Rampart Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89128) and at Kellogg Zaher Soccer Complex (7901 W Washington Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89128).

Jordan Greenway is the Owner and Director of Villarreal Las Vegas Academy. Philip Nantas serves as the Head Coach. The club will compete exclusively in the UPSL.

UPSL Commissioner Yan Skwara said, "We know how much dedication and passion Jordan [Greenway] has for soccer, so it is fair to say that that we are all very excited for the addition of Villarreal Las Vegas Academy to the UPSL. It is a very good time for clubs to join the league in Las Vegas, and we are confident that this team will help develop new players in the region."

Villarreal Las Vegas Academy is an official partner of Villarreal CF, a member of Spain's La Liga. Greenway and his coaching staff work closely with the Spanish professional ciub to incorporate its methodologies and fundamentals.

"It was the best time to join the UPSL as we believe it is the best league to develop our Under-19 players," Greenway said. "Scouting and player development are the most important aspects of joining a soccer club. By having our top Under-19 players competing in the UPSL, we know that our kids will be pushed to their limits and challenged by such amazing teams."

Nantas has a lifetime of experience in player development and was, himself, scouted and recruited by soccer legend Alfredo Di Stefano to play in the Real Madrid youth academy. Nantes also played for Ajax, Juventus and Manchester City, among others.

Games are scheduled to begin on  April 23. The club will announce its fixture calendar.
